We are in the beginning stages of planning a Disney trip. When is the best time to go when it is not as crowded but also not too hot. We don't mind taking the kids out of school.

    Heigh Ho James!

How exciting to be planning a Walt Disney World vacation! Planning is half the fun! Shh, but I also subscribe to the take-my-kids-out-of-school plan...after I check with the school first, of course.

My favorite months to visit Walt Disney World for weather and crowds combined are early May and October. Those months are warm and can sometimes border on hot, but that's perfect pool weather to me. The Walt Disney World resorts offer some of the most fantastic pools like the Nanea Volcano Pool at Disney's Polynesian Resort and Stormalong Bay at Disney's Beach Club Resort.

I say early to mid-May, because the crowds get larger the later you go in May due to some schools getting out for summer vacation. Also, in May you can enjoy the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival Presented by HGTV. The topiary displays of Disney characters are exquisite. And if you think the Force is strong enough with your family, then be sure to check out Star Wars Weekends at Disney's Hollywood Studios also in May and early June.

I love October, because, I'm a big Halloween fan, and I love seeing the parks decked out in fall decorations. Also my favorite hard-ticketed event by far is Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. When you combine HalloWishes, dressing in costume, Disney characters in costume, and candy, I'm in heaven! I'm a sucker for candy.

Whichever month you choose, your family will be sure to have a magical time! If I can assist you further with your vacation planning, please come back and visit the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I hope to 'see ya real soon!'
