    We are beginning the planning stages of our first disney trip. When will Disney post specials for 2013 or are there good months to go normally for free dining plans? Do a lot of people take their kids out of school to go in cheaper less crowded weeks?

    Woo Hoo - Your very first Walt Disney World trip!!! You are well on your way to an absolutely MAGICAL vacation because you are taking the time to plan. I promise you will NOT regret your planning time before your vacation. It will make all the difference in the world!



    There is not really a set time or date when Walt Disney World will begin posting their 2013 special discounts and promotions. Typically, guests will begin seeing special discounts for 2013 starting in October 2012.



    The Free Disney Dining promotion is VERY popular! In fact, my family has had the opportunity to enjoy Free Disney Dining in January and in August/September. While not guaranteed, January through early March and late August through September are the best months to look for Free Disney Dining.



    As far as taking your kids out of school, I do it all of the time. The discounts and promotions offered during off-peak seasons are too incredible to pass up! Each school district has their own policies and procedures for unexcused absences. My recommendation is to talk to your teachers before you leave and ask for your make-up work in advance. I would also check and make sure there are not any standardized testing dates or kid activities conflicting with your trip.
