I am in the beginning planning stages of our first Disney Cruise (also our first cruise). We are trying to decide between a 3 night Bahama or a 7 night Western Caribbean as it's our first time. Any recommendations?

    Hello, Kim -

Thanks for visiting the Moms Panel and logging in a question. I remember feeling the same exact dilemma several years ago, when I was trying to plan my family's very first cruise experience. Our kids were little back then, and my husband and I had pretty much made up our minds that we were only taking a Disney Cruise vacation - and not any other cruise line. Based on the entertainment options and the youth activities that we highly value, we wanted to make sure that we go on a family friendly vacation that would guarantee enjoyment for everyone. Our very first cruise was a 3-night Bahamian voyage... that pretty much reeled us in and we've been hooked ever since. I felt that the 3-night cruise was very action packed. I wanted to try every single activity, but there were too many things to do and too little time. Of course, that just urged us to take on a much longer cruise, so our next and future cruises have usually been 7 nights or longer. Prior to our first cruise, I was a little bit worried about potential motion sickness for my family members, since no one had ever stepped into a big cruise ship in the past. But once we got there - we really did feel like home. We were so comfortable and didn't have a problem.

Knowing what I know now, I would jump at the chance to enjoy a 7-night Disney Cruise. My kids would potentially want to live on the Disney Cruise, so as you can imagine, the longer the duration the better for them. No matter which voyage your family chooses - you will enjoy it.

Have a great time crafting your magical vacation. Do let me know if you have specific questions that might help you in making any more decisions about any of the voyages. We are always glad to help.

    Have a magical day!
