Beginning to plan '14 Magical Trip-YaY! Down to two resorts: Wilderness Lodge or Beach Club. We have stayed at WL before and love but are considering a new experience this year. Would love to hear anyone's thoughts on the two to help us decide. Thanks

    Hi Amy,

I just love helping people decide on the resort for their upcoming trips. This is such an important part of the planning process, so I'm glad to stopped by the Moms Panel to get our take on it.

While Disney's Wilderness Lodge is my all-time favorite resort, I can't deny that my kids absolutely loved staying at Disney's Beach Club Resort this past summer. The main pool area, Stormalong Bay, is a huge draw for this resort. It features a "shipwreck" complete with water slide, sand-bottomed pool areas, a lazy river, and zero entry areas. Another great plus for this location are all the fantastic dining options. Beaches & Cream Soda Shop is a unique place to get ice cream with a nostalgic feel and Yachtsman Steakhouse is one of my top five signature dining spots. Unlike Wilderness Lodge, the Beach Club has a character dining location with Cape May Cafe, which offers a fun breakfast with characters. Dinner here is a "clambake" which is phenomenal, however, characters do not come to dinner. Convenience and location are also huge selling points as it is a very quick 5 minute walk to Epcot's International Gateway entrance and about a 10 minute walk to Disney's Hollywood Studios (keep in mind that these times could vary based on your family's walking speed). So, there is no need to wait for transportation and you can get there on your own timetable.

Again, I absolutely love Disney's Wilderness Lodge and can see why you had such a great experience there. However, it might be fun to try something different. But, if you decide to stick with a favorite, your experience could be equally as pleasing and fun.

Have a fantastic time and please stop by if you have more questions as you continue your planning. I'd love to help.
