Howdy, Robert.
Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question. Wow! I bet you're counting down the days until April 9th. Mickey and his pals can't wait to show you all the exciting magic for the
50th Anniversary Celebration. When I recently traveled to
Walt Disney World Resort, I saw
Cinderella Castle in all its EARisdecent colors and, to quote Flynn Rider, I was like, "I could get used to a view like this. Yep, I'm used to it. Guys, I want a castle." I'm sure you're in for a great time!
One of my favorite things to do when planning a trip to my second "home" is to make dining reservations. You can do this through your My Disney Experience account up to 60 days in advance of your trip. If you're staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel, then you get the added
benefit of being able to make reservations up to 60 days in advance
plus the length of your stay (up to 10 days). This means you are far more likely to reserve a table before restaurants fill up.
If, for whatever reason, you're not able to reserve any restaurants that you set your heart on, don't panic. People cancel their reservations quite often. Therefore, as your trip draws nearer, keep checking to see if any new reservations become available.
There are also plenty of great quick-service options throughout the Theme Parks. Some of my personal favorites are
Columbia Harbour House at Magic Kingdom Park,
Ronto Roasters at Disney's Hollywood Studios,
Satu'li Canteen at Disney's Animal Kingdom, and any quick-service restaurant around World Showcase in EPCOT. You can even use the
Mobile Order Service available at many quick-service locations.
One final tip: One of the fantastic features of the My Disney Experience Mobile App is the ability to make
walk-up dining reservations at select restaurants. Here's how you do it: Find a participating restaurant and make sure you're in close proximity. Then open your My Disney Experience app, click on "Check Dining Availability," select the size of your party, select the date, and then select "Now" under "Search by Time." Once you do that, you should be able to view the estimated wait time for your restaurant. Once you are added to the standby list, you'll be notified when your table is ready.
Now I'm all rumbly in my tumbly! I hope that information comes in handy, Robert. I trust you'll have a delicious Disney trip. Thanks for being our Guest.
Mike
