Can I use beer mug/token at Castaway Island?

Ahoy there, Raquel!  Glad to have you alongside here at planDisney! I'm thrilled that you're looking at embarking on an adventure that makes a stop at Disney Castaway Cay! Having made stops there on most of my past Disney Cruise Line vacations, I can say without a doubt that you're in for an incredible day! From sunning yourself on a pristine beach to seeing your favorite characters ready for fun in the sun, enjoying an amazing lunch at Cookie's BBQ, and everything in-between, it all combines into an adventure that will take your breath away!

I, for one, am so glad you asked this question about the 22-ounce Disney Cruise Line Mug! It's honestly one of my favorite souvenirs from our Disney Cruise Line vacations, and the deal it gets you at the lounges around the ship isn't too shabby either! Unfortunately, while on Castaway Cay, you won't be able to use the beer mug.

In fact, you'll probably notice that the drinks you get on Castaway are served either in paper, plastic, souvenir plastic, or metal! While I'm not a fan of plastics, I would be even less excited about the risk of glass breakage on the island!

So while it may be a little inconvenient to not be able to use the mug during your day on Castaway Cay, I like to take this opportunity to branch out from the beers on the ship to some of the signature cocktails and other beverages available around the Island. Some say a day at Castaway Cay isn't complete until you get a Konk Cooler - and I tend to agree! There is something about Serenity Bay, a Konk Cooler, and my feet in the beautiful water that just means "it's vacation!"

Well, that settles it, I'm officially jealous of your plans Raquel! Thank you so much for your question and for letting me re-live some of my favorite parts of Castaway Cay! If you have any additional questions as you continue planning, please sail my way again here at planDisney!

Until then, I'll SEA ya' real soon!

    Andrew
