Disney's Wilderness Lodge is my favorite resort, and anytime I get the chance to talk about this wonderful place, I jump on it. While I haven't personally had the opportunity to stay in one of the dreamy 2 Bedroom Cabins at
Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, it's certainly something I aspire to, like yourself. I'm happy to help you try to snag one.
I'm not sure when you're planning to visit, but I can share some general guidelines for when these cabins can be booked. Because they're part of
Disney Vacation Club (DVC), when you can book is dependent on a few details. If you're a DVC member looking to use your points, you can book up to 11 months prior to your stay if your home resort is Copper Creek Villas & Cabins, and you're using those points for the reservation. If the points you're using are at a different home resort, you can book up to 7 months prior to your stay. If you plan to reserve with cash as you would any other
Disney Resort hotel, booking usually begins sometime in the spring the previous year before your stay. Exact dates when reservations open for the next year can change from year-to-year, but this should give you an idea of when to start watching for them.
All of this is dependent on availability, and just like any of the Disney Resort hotels, when you're planning to visit can have a big impact on what's available. If your dates are flexible, you might think about visiting during some of the slower times. Also, I find that it's sometimes easier to find a day or two open even if the whole week appears booked. Play around with the reservations calendar on the Walt Disney World website, and you just might be surprised by what pops up. If you don't find what you're looking for, keep checking because plans can change. If you do see some days available during your desired dates, I recommend grabbing what you can and keep trying to modify if more dates open up. These cabins are very popular, as you've probably already surmised.
You could always book a split stay, too, with however many nights you can grab in a 2 Bedroom Cabin and then book a regular room at Disney's Wilderness Lodge to round out your trip. Perhaps you might even consider booking a Club Level room as another way to treat yourself to a different touch of luxury outside of the cabins. That sounds like a spectacular combination to me!
During your visit to Disney's Wilderness Lodge, be sure to rub Humphrey's nose at the entrance to the
Wilderness Lodge Mercantile, the merchandise store at the resort. For me, no trip would be complete without enjoying lunch or dinner at
Geyser Point Bar & Grill. I also like to return to the walkway in front of Geyser Point right by the lake at night for a view of
Happily Ever After fireworks and the
Electrical Water Pageant.
