Becuase of school breaks and wanting warmer weather we are planning family WDW visit at Easter 2012. Can anyone tell me if coming prior to easter (say Mon-Wed before Easter) will help avoid some of the crowded Easter Week time?

Hi, Doug!  Because spring break is different for so many different schools, there's a longer spring break surge in crowds that begins usually in mid-March and runs through the week after Easter.  I would say you might see a slightly larger crowd Easter week than the week before, and maybe even a little bit more Easter weekend, so if I had to choose the week before or after Easter, I might go with the week before.

There are things you can do to help navigate a crowded theme park.  Make sure you always are one Fast Pass ahead - before you use one in hand, go pick up another one for another attraction.  For more theme park time, if you are a resort guest, take advantage of extra magic hours.  Try to plan meals for off peak times, like lunch at 11:30 or dinner at 9:00 PM if possible.  And you can also notice a little lightening of attraction lines during the parades.

Whenever you decide to go, I hope you have a wonderful visit!
