Will becoming a DVC member from the UK be more economic with the annual costs of being a member, with the savings on vacations and discounts etc? Also what is the cheapest option for someone that stays in deluxe resorts? Thanks (Disney world)

Hey There, Hi There, Ho There, Phoebe!

You are as welcome as can be here at planDisney. Thank you so much for stopping by with your question. How exciting that you are thinking of becoming one of Disney Vacation Club's newest neighbors. As a Disney Vacation Club Member for the last 22 years, it has truly been one of the best decisions our family has made.  Membership has given our family flexible, affordable vacations year after year, to Disney and beyond. My parents are also Members, and with their Membership, they have been able to take dream vacations that wouldn't have been possible otherwise.

Pheobe, as everyone purchases a different number of Vacation Points and uses those Points differently, it is hard for me to know precisely how much of a savings Disney Vacation Club Membership would be for your family. But, what I can tell you is how we use our Points.

We can book a Deluxe Studio at a Disney Vacation Club Resort, which are all Deluxe Resorts,  at Walt Disney World for a week-long vacation each year. This saves our family thousands of dollars in hotel fees.  Some years, we have Banked our Points or Borrowed ahead, and it has enabled us to do even more. In fact, last year, we enjoyed three vacations with one-bedroom Villas at Walt Disney World, Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort, and Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa.  We have 220 Vacation Points each year, but as some families have more and some have less, how you can use your Vacation Points to enjoy the vacations of your dreams will vary.  We have also used our Vacation Points to go on Disney Cruise Line Cruises, vacation at Disneyland California and Disneyland Paris, and through the exchange with Interval International to enjoy a beach trip in California, a ski trip in Colorado, and a European vacation in Austria.

My parents have three contracts with Disney Vacation Club and have used their Vacation Points to enjoy Adventures by Disney Vacations, Disney Cruise Line sailings, and week-long stays at Disney Vacation Club Resorts at Walt Disney World, Disney's Vero Beach Resort, and Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort.  It's a wonderful way to maximize the magic of Membership.

Your Vacation Points will go furthest at Disney Vacation Club Resorts (which are all Deluxe Resorts), and it will depend very much on the Resort and time of year, as Vacation Points costs can vary.  What I would recommend is contacting a DVC Sales Team Member who can walk you through the costs for Vacation Points, help you identify how many Vacation Points would be ideal for how you like to vacation, and share with you how the process works.

I can say that our Vacation Club Membership paid for itself within the first few years after purchase. And, we have enjoyed years of magical memories and vacations, which were made possible thanks to our Membership.

I hope this helps you, Pheobe! If you have any further Disney Vacation Club questions, stop back here to see me, and I'll be happy to help you.

    See ya real soon!
