Hi there Rita, welcome to
planDisney!
It sounds like you are heading to one of my favorite
Disney Vacation Club Beach resorts soon, you're going to have a blast at the Atlantic Treasure Coast's
Disney's Vero Beach Resort!
Every year, Indian River County completes the Beach and Dune restoration to ensure the beaches are ready for turtle nesting season. Disney's Vero Beach resort received notice that restoration was commencing March 3rd, 2024. The County has one month to complete the work but can finish sooner depending on where the location falls along the beach. I spoke with a resort Cast Member who shared that the County is working hard and is on track for completion by April 2, 2024.
In the meantime, the resort provides a shuttle to Golden Sands, a beach just down the road (less than a 10-minute ride). Golden Sands' beach restoration was completed earlier in the year so it's ready for visitors! When you're ready to hop on the shuttle, head to the Front Lobby doors. The shuttle comes once an hour (25 minutes past the hour) and returns from Golden Sands once an hour (35 minutes past the hour). I recommend confirming the times with the Front Desk as these are the times I was given today. The Cast Member also said that if you're ready to head back to the resort and it's outside of when the shuttle will depart, give the resort a call and they will send a shuttle for you.
If you're in the mood for a refreshing swim closer to your room, head to the
Mickey-shaped swimming pool! Our family thoroughly enjoys participating in pool activities and games (although my daughters can get quite competitive!). I find the Pirate Plunge waterslide race particularly thrilling, where Cast Members time participants as they zoom down the two-story, 163-foot spiral water slide. I may have even earned the title of women's sliding champion on one of our visits!
Rita, I hope this information is helpful to your vacation planning. Have an amazing time at Disney's Vero Beach Resort and keep an eye out for the turtles.
Happy relaxing,
Candace
