Beach Club Question - I am deciding between two rooms in the hotel vs. a 1 bedroom villa. So I am really leaning toward the villa for the laundry and kitchen. My teens do not want to share. Is there enough room in the living area for an air mattress?

    Hi Richard,

Thanks for visiting Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I feel one of the great truisms of a Walt Disney World vacation is that there are accommodation options to best fit everyone's vacationing style. As a Disney Vacation Club member, I have enjoyed all our stays in the villa-style accommodations at various Resorts, and I agree that the fully equipped kitchen and washer and dryer are wonderful amenities. I also feel there's a lot to love about Disney's Beach Club Resort. The walkable proximity to Epcot is a plus, and Disney's BoardWalk is such a fun area to spend a stay.

In thinking about your plan to bring an air mattress for a 1 Bedroom Villa, I'd say there is space in the living room on the floor for it. Certainly there is ample space if you don't open the sleeper sofa. (An aside, my teen once preferred sleeping sofa-style rather than sleeper-sofa-pull-out style).

If you're open to exploring other Resorts, you might want to look at Resorts where a 1 bedroom villa would offer additional sleeping options. For example, a 1 Bedroom Villa at Disney's Old Key West Resort offers a King Bed and Queen-Size Sleeper Sofa and a Twin-Size Sleeper Chair. That setup, or a similar setup, might be a more comfortable setup for your family. The key idea to keep in mind is that among all the Resorts there are a number of options for you to arrange the most comfortable accommodations for your family's vacation.

Richard, here's wishing you all a great Walt Disney World vacation. If you have more questions as you make your plans, please do let us know.

    Enjoy your Disney!

The playful and creative optimism of all things Disney has enthralled me since I was a kid. I loved watching "The Wonderful World of Disney" on Sunday nights, seeing all the live-action and animated classics in theaters, and — of course — visiting "The Most Magical Place on Earth" for the first time 45 years ago. These days, the big kid in me still loves to play Disney. As a long-time Disney destinations vacationer, I'm looking forward to helping you play Disney starting here at planDisney!
