Ahoy and welcome to planDisney, Sandra! Ready to spend a day on Island Time? Disney's
Castaway Cay is the best destination to do as little or as much as you would like. Your ship docks right on the island, and it is just a short walk or tram ride to the beach.
Castaway Cay has a large family beach (available to all guests) and a beach at Serenity Bay (reserved for guests ages 18 and older). Both of these locations have beach chairs, lounges and umbrellas available without a charge or reservation required. They are available on a first-come basis. I have never had an issue finding a chair, but if it is important to you to have one - or to have one close to the water - you may want to head to the beach early in the morning.
You can rent floats, tubes and snorkels to enjoy in the water. These can be reserved with
Port Adventures when your
booking window opens, but I recommend renting when you are at Castaway Cay. It is really easy to add these to your day on the island.
Another phenomenal convenience that makes Castaway Cay heavenly is Cookies BBQ. You can easily grab a great lunch and soda to enjoy while spending your day on the island. Like the restaurants on the ship, these are included in your cruise fare.
Although beach chairs are available by the ocean, be sure to grab towels! They are available right as you disembark the ship. And it is an island in the Bahamas, so you will need your Key to the World Card and passengers 16 and older will need a driver's license/photo identification to return to the ship.
If you have any other questions, please come back to
planDisney. We're happy to help!
Happy Cruising!
