Bday celebration plan and activities for my 9 years old

    Hi Yanisley,

    Welcome to planDisney!

Can you believe your little Mouseketeer will be another year older soon?! Well, I mean, as Rapunzel says, “That’s the funny thing about birthdays, they’re kind of an annual thing.” Let me first say Happy Birthday! I’m so excited to help you plan a magical birthday celebration at the Most Magical Place on Earth. There is no better place to celebrate than Walt Disney World Resort.

If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Collection Hotel, I would highly recommend having a special celebration cupcake, balloons, or gift basket sent to your room for your little one through Disney Floral and Gifts. Your little birthday reveler will love bringing the celebration to their little resort tower with yummy treats and snacks.

Speaking of tower, let’s make sure that everyone at Walt Disney World Resort can join in on the celebration. The first thing you will want to do is stop by Guest Services or the front desk of your resort hotel and pick up a complimentary Celebration Button. Birthdays should be celebrated and acknowledged by all, and this button will help Cast Members and even other Guests recognize your Mouseketeer on their special day. It also makes a great souvenir from their birthday that they can keep forever. I still have every Celebration button I’ve ever gotten from the Parks.

One of my favorite ways to celebrate a special occasion is with nighttime spectaculars. I think Rapunzel and I have that in common; the best birthday gift sometimes is just to see the lights light up the sky. If your Mouseketeer would agree, consider reserving Disney Enchantment Treats & Seats. This enchanting extra will get a prime spot for Magic Kingdom Park’s newest fireworks show, Disney’s Enchantment. Your child will love seeing the projections light up Cinderella’s Castle and the mesmerizing fireworks display while snacking on yummy Disney treats. It will also be less crowded and an excellent way for your entire family to enjoy the show.

Another way I love to celebrate is with incredible dining and, of course, cake! You can celebrate at select Disney Dining table service locations by having a Mickey Mouse Celebration Cake brought out to your table. If you are interested in doing this, I highly recommend pre-ordering by contacting a Cast Member at Disney’s Enchanting Extras line (407-939-7529). Since you will also need to book the dining location, get your reservations starting today! If your Mouseketeer likes Finding Nemo and aquatic animals, might I recommend a lesser-known option of the Coral Reef Restaurant? I recently tried it for the first time and was in awe of the experience of dining next to the expansive aquarium at EPCOT. It is like having dinner and a very relaxing show.

I hope these ideas have given you inspiration for your child’s magical birthday celebration, and I hope it is the “Best. Day. Ever!” Whatever you decide I’m sure that the time spent with you will be the most magical part of all.

    Happy Planning!
