Hi there, Manesha!
I’m glad you found
planDisney and brought us your question about the
Disneyland Resort. I have a few ideas that might help you make your dream of a trip to the Happiest Place on Earth a reality!
Manesha, Canadians can purchase
Disney Gift Cards from local retailers and use them to buy almost everything Disney-related, including Disneyland Resort
theme park tickets, hotel stays, merchandise, meals and snacks, and more! Buying gift cards in advance is a wonderful way to build up your trip fund and can be a convenient way to pay while you’re traveling. I’ve heard there is an added benefit for residents of Canada, though. When you purchase a Disney Gift Card before leaving home, it’s initially issued in Canadian dollars. After your first payment transaction, that day’s exchange rate is applied to all the gift card's funds, and the money is then locked in as US dollars. There are conversion fees applied during that first transaction, but after that, you won’t need to worry about the exchange rate for the rest of your transactions using that gift card. This is beneficial because you’ll only pay the fee once, as opposed to using a credit card, when there would be a conversion fee charged for every transaction. If you check the bottom of the receipt you receive when making a purchase at the resort, the amount you have left on your Disney Gift Card will be displayed.
Additionally, did you know you can make payments on a complete
vacation package that includes theme park tickets and a stay at one of the three
Disneyland Resort Hotels or at a nearby
Good Neighbor Hotel? When you purchase a vacation package, you’re able to make payments after an initial deposit and pay off your trip gradually, which can be a helpful budgeting tool. Plus, packages currently include a Magical Extras Savings Card that offers discounts at dining and merchandise locations throughout the
Downtown Disney District and an exclusive collectible Disney pin, lanyard, and luggage tag set for each person in your party!
I also recommend that you check out the other
special offers and discounts currently available at the Disneyland Resort that may be of use to you, such as the
Disneyland Resort Hotel offer that can help you save up to 15% on select rooms this spring. My family loves staying close to the theme parks, and there’s nothing better than never having to leave the magic of the resort during your vacation! My advice is to follow the
Disney Parks Blog and the Disneyland Resort’s social media accounts to stay up to date on all the deals that can make your vacation more affordable.
I hope this helps, Manesha, and that you’re able to plan a pixie-dusted vacation soon! Please
write back with any other questions you may have.
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
