Hi Whitney,
Thanks so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. Wow, you are choosing between two great resorts.
Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort is so sleek and modern.
The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is simply a charming resort. I do not think that you can make a wrong decision! Both have great options for dining and recreation.
Overall, I lean toward recommending Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort for two reasons. One, from there you can walk to Magic Kingdom. If you plan to spend some time at the Magic Kingdom, the ability to walk back to your resort in 5 or 10 minutes is amazing. Both of the resorts are on the monorail line, so you can easily head to Epcot or Magic Kingdom on the monorail.
The other reason is a more practical one: you already have a reservation at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort. Since The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is newer, and also a relatively small, it may be difficult to obtain a reservation there. You can certainly try, but please do not be disappointed if you cannot get one - you already have reservations at a great resort. If you are a Disney Vacation Club member, you can call Disney Vacation Club member services at 1-800-800-9800 to check if there is availability. If not, you can call Disney at 407-W-DISNEY (407-934-7639) or your travel agent with whom you made the reservation to check.
I hope that this information is helpful for you, Whitney. Have a wonderful time planning your vacation, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
