Bright Suns, Monica!
Okay, I am definitely the last panelist who should be answering this question because I don't super love sci-fi, action or multi-film franchises. However. I will say that everything about Batuu and
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is just plain cool. This land is so elaborate and meticulously detailed, the attractions are beyond amazing and honestly one of my new favorite park meals is at
Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo.
I was so blown away by this land that I needed to have a piece of it. But since I don't have a real connection to anything from the actual movies, I purchased a Batuuan Spira coin for myself. It's a nifty souvinEAR and I love that the credits loaded on it can be spent anywhere at Walt Disney World Resort where regular
Disney Gift Cards are accepted. (Which is everywhere, minus the AMC Dine-in Theatre in
Disney Springs.)
There are rumors flying around the far, far corners of deep space (err, I mean the internet) that these coins are no longer sold in the parks, that they were limited releases and have sold out for unhappily ever after. And actually when I was looking to purchase a second Spira as a gift for a friend, the first Batuuan citizen I asked also said they were limited releases that had sold out and probably weren't going to be restocked. But then the store had two boxes of them the very next week. I purchased my original coin at the
Resistance Supply kiosk near the brand new Rise of the Resistance attraction, and I found the second at
Droid Depot. It's very possible that these could be sold out by the afternoon of your visit to Batuu, but then fully restocked by the next morning, so definitely check early and multiple times if you have the change to fly back to this side of the galaxy on your vacation to Mickey's house.
I hope this helped to plan your upcoming Disney Days, Monica, and We'll See You Real Soon! 'Til the Spire!
