Michael from TX Asked Note: This answer was provided prior to the change to planDisney and may still contain references to Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Since the batteries in the Magic Bands has a limited life span, is there a place to check if the bands are still in working order before getting in line to enter the parks?

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Michael!  Thanks for bringing us such a good question!

I’ve wondered this myself and what I found was that even if your MagicBand battery is no longer working, the MagicBand magic will still partially work. Just like with the hard tickets, or cards, your MagicBand will be work at the touch points for park entry, FastPass+, and to make payments if you are staying inside the magic and have a credit card linked to your account.

There is no way to check if the battery is no longer working. But one telltale sign is if you’re not seeing any attraction photos or videos when you browse your photos in your My Disney Experience account. Specifically, the attractions that have that added magic of capturing a ride video, but there is no touchpoint at the end of the attraction to claim it.

I hope this helps answer your question. If you need any additional tips or planning advice, be sure to stop by and see us again.

    Wishing you a magical day,
