Jambo Christina!
Welcome to planDisney, the most magical place on the internet! I am so glad that you are looking into booking a stay at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, one of my absolute favourite Disney Resort hotels! This Resort is absolutely perfect for animal lovers and I cannot wait for you to experience its magic.
Now, let's talk about those beautifully themed rooms at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge! From my personal experience, it seemed that most rooms at the Resort still had bathtubs in their bathrooms. Although I have seen that some refurbished rooms have gotten walk-in showers, the rooms I have stayed in at both Jambo House and Kidani Village each had bathtubs when I stayed there in 2021 and 2022. In this case, if you know that you will need a bathtub during your stay, I would highly recommend that you
call the reservation center while booking your reservation! Indeed, it is typically best to make specific room requests while booking your room or immediately after over the phone with a Disney Cast Member, so I would recommend doing so just in case!
While staying at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, I highly recommend that you check out some of the dining options as well as other activities at the Resort. Indeed, my family and I absolutely love Jambo House's
Boma - Flavors of Africa, and it has become a must-do on our Disney vacations. While the food there is always incredible, I love going there for brunch specifically as they offer special The Lion King waffles that cannot be found anywhere else at the Walt Disney World Resort. Another great dining option is
Sanaa, which is located at Kidani Village. Their Indian-style Bread Service is well known amongst Walt Disney World Resort fans, but if you like spice make sure to also try their amazing samosas. Lastly, no Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge stay is complete without some zebra domes! This delicious dessert includes an Amarula Cream liquor mousse with a white chocolate coating and dark chocolate stripes and it has been a favourite in my family for years. You can find it at Boma - Flavors of Africa as well as
The Mara and some of the gift shops!
I hope this was helpful, Christine, and that you and your wilderness explorers will have the best day ever on your next Disney vacation. If you have any other questions in the time leading up to your next visit, please don't hesitate to reach back out. And as they say in the Harambe wildlife reserve: goodbye is way too sad and way too final, so instead we say "kwaherini" which means "go well" in Swahili!
Kwaherini, my friend!
