Ahoy there, Riley!
Welcome aboard planDisney! It sounds like you are scoping out the lineup for one of those exciting 2027 itineraries. I love that you are already thinking about the fun factor. A little homework now means you will be picking your ship like a true Imagineer.
Since you did not mention a specific ship, I will give you the
grand tour overview so you can picture what each class offers.
Let’s start with basketball courts and sports areas. Each current ship has a dedicated sports deck. On the Magic and Wonder, you will find the
Wide World of Sports on Deck 10 forward. On the Dream and the Fantasy,
Goofy’s Sports Deck is on Deck 13 aft, and this is also where you will find Goofy Golf. On the Wish, Treasure, and Destiny, the sports action moves indoors to the
Hero Zone on Deck 12 aft, which is a big plus if weather ever decides not to cooperate. Whether you are shooting hoops, playing ping pong, or challenging your crew to mini golf, there is always a little friendly competition waiting.
Now let’s talk bars and lounges. Every ship has its own personality when it comes to nightlife. The Dream features
The District and the Fantasy has Europa, both located on Deck 4 aft and designed as clusters of themed lounges so you can hop from one vibe to another without trekking across the ship. The newer ships have some incredibly immersive spaces inspired by Disney stories, and even the classic ships offer everything from quiet piano bars to lively entertainment lounges. No matter your style, whether you want a relaxed evening with a mocktail or a themed lounge experience that feels straight out of a Disney film, there is
something for everyone.
And of course, the water fun. Every ship has multiple pools, splash zones for younger cruisers, and at least one waterslide. My personal favorite is the Magic, which offers
the AquaDunk, dropping you in a way that definitely wakes you up faster than a morning cup of coffee. My second favorite would be the Dream and Fantasy, which feature
the AquaDuck, a water coaster that sends you twisting around the upper decks with ocean views all around. On the Magic, Wonder, and Fantasy, the
AquaLab adds extra splash features for bigger kids and playful adults alike. The newer ships also have impressive water attractions and interactive splash areas that keep everyone cool while sailing under the sun.
One quick tip from experience is to think about what matters most to your crew. If indoor sports space is important, that might guide your decision. If waterslides and pool variety top your list, you truly cannot go wrong with any of the fleet. Each ship has its own charm, and none of them skimp on fun.
I hope this helps as you narrow down the perfect ship for your adventure. With basketball courts, themed lounges, and water attractions on every vessel, you are guaranteed plenty of ways to play.
Sea ya real soon with a little extra warmth, wonder, and Disney magic,
Dustin
