I just had bariatric surgery and require protein. What is the policy about bringing protein powder into the parks?

Hi Darci! Thanks for dropping by planDisney.

I have good news for you: Protein powder is not on the list of prohibited items at Disneyland Resort. It's great that you checked, however! I would suggest you keep your protein powder in the original packaging, so security knows what it is. It is always up to the discretion of security personnel what may enter the parks, but having the protein powder in the original packaging will help them know what they're looking at. Just be sure the container isn't glass, which is prohibited. I wouldn't want you to head back to the car or your Disneyland Resort Hotel to put it away before entering the parks.

If you're looking for other healthy protein options while you're in the parks, you can always check the Disneyland mobile app for dining options and menus. It's a helpful tool for our family when planning where we'd like to eat, especially when one of us has a particular dietary need.

You'll be visiting during one of my favorite seasons: Halloween Time! There will be festive décor, entertainment, merchandise, and more. Be sure to follow the Disney Parks Blog for updates on what new will be coming to the parks to celebrate the spookiest of seasons. I'd have my must-do list ready to go before arrival, so you're not sure to miss a moment of the fun. My can't-miss is the Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay.

    Happy haunts!
