I want to bank my 2024 points into year 2025 and borrow from 2026 to make a reservation for a Grand Villa in july of 2025. Is this allowed?

Hey there, Bruce! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your great vacation planning question. You've got a friend in me, and I'll be by your side like Buzz to your Woody to help you navigate the world of Disney Vacation Club!

It sounds like you have plans for a Disney adventure with a large group--how fun! Most of the DVC resorts, including Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina, Hawai'i, offer an accommodation option with 3 bedrooms. A Grand Villa generally sleeps up to 12 Guests plus 1 infant, and they are perfect for a vacation with family and friends. One of my favorite features of staying in a DVC Villa versus a standard hotel is the fully-equipped kitchen! We like to eat breakfast and caffeinate before we head off to the theme parks, then unwind in the evening with a snack while we compare the highlights of our day!

Of course, a Grand Villa requires plenty of Vacation Points, so it's great that you're thinking ahead about what you might need to bank and borrow to book your 2025 getaway. Generally speaking, you can bank points from your current Use Year into the following one, then borrow points from the one beyond to combine all three sets of points. However, there are a couple of rules to keep in mind!
    • Banking your Vacation Points must be done within the first eight months of your Use Year. For my June Use Year, this means I need to complete any banking transactions (and you can make multiple!) by January 31 each year.
    • Hoping to borrow points? Go crazy! Just remember that once you borrow Vacation Points, they must be used in the Use Year that you've pulled them into and they will expire at the end of that Use Year.
Bruce, I definitely recommend contacting my BFFs at Member Services so they can take a look at all of the specifics of your Membership. Based on your Use Year and the points you have available, they'll be able to give the best guidance for booking your Grand Villa getaway.

I hope this information is just what you need, Bruce! I'm dying to know which resort you're hoping to book, so please visit us again at planDisney if we can help with any other questions related to DVC Membership and vacation planning. Thanks so much for stopping by!
