Are bamboo cutlery allowed inside Disney parks? I have a bamboo set that includes a spoon, fork, knife, and straw. I am wondering if this is something I can take to the park as I am planning on visiting EPCOT during Food and Wine.

Hi there, Michelle! Welcome to planDisney!

A trip to the Walt Disney World Resort for the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival is always on my menu! I have two must-do items when I'm there - the Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup and the Guinness Bailey's Shake. I can't wait to get back to sip and slurp to my heart's content!

Bringing your own utensils is pure foodie genius, Michelle! Our best guide on this question is the Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules, and I don't see any mention there of bamboo cutlery being prohibited. Knives and other weapons are of course not allowed, but I don't think your bamboo knife would fall into that category. Plus, Disney had a set of bamboo utensils available for purchase in the theme park earlier this year, so I'm sure you'll be fine. To be on the safe side, you can always ask a security Cast Member at the park entrance before going through the scanner if your set gets the thumbs-up.

Michelle, your planDisney pals share lots of tips and info - including a look at some of the fabulous food - on Instagram! If you're not following us yet, hop on over and check out the fun at @planDisneypanel!

I hope this helps you enjoy every scrumptious bite during your EPCOT adventure, Michelle. Please come see us again if you have any more questions!

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
