As soon as I read your question, the music from the film "Up" started playing in my head. My granddaughter loves the balloons in that movie, and when we first took her to Magic Kingdom, she fell in love with the colorful balloons she saw there. We bought a large Mickey-shaped balloon, and not knowing the rules, we took it to
Animal Kingdom Theme Park a few days later. We quickly learned that balloons are not allowed for the safety of the animals. As an animal lover, I completely understood. The last thing I would want is for our balloon to fly away and end up in the savanna, where an animal might eat it. Because of this, balloons are also not permitted at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.
Bruce, this may not be the answer you were hoping for. I'm including the
GENERAL WALT DISNEY WORLD PROPERTY RULES, which state: "Balloons are not permitted at Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park, water parks, ESPN Wide World of Sports, or Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge (Kidani Village and Jambo House)." However, balloons are available for sale throughout Walt Disney World Resort and are permitted in most locations.
I'm not sure if you have a reservation booked at
Animal Kingdom Lodge, but I just returned from a stay there last week. Being so close to the giraffes was an incredible experience! I hope you have time to truly explore this Resort hotel.
