What do you do with your balloon on rides? My kids really want them, this will be out first trip without a stroller. They love to get one ASAP and take pics all day, but I'm worried about rides. Thanks!

Hello, Nina! Your trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth is in just a few days. Are you getting so excited? I can only imagine that you can hardly wait.

Ah, the quintessential Disney souvenir - the Mickey Balloon! My oh my how my daughter loved those when she was little. It was perfect to get one at the beginning of a trip and enjoy it all week long tied to the stroller. Not only are they so cute and fun, they also helped with spotting the stroller in the stroller parking areas. When my daughter aged out of a stroller we stopped buying them for quite some time. I always had the same question as you, what do you do with them on attractions? Well, last March my daughter turned 14 and celebrated her birthday at Walt Disney World. At the top of her must-do list for the day was pictures with a Mickey balloon in front of Cinderella Castle. I tried to talk her out of it because I didn't know what we would do with it but it turned out to be no big deal at all. When we went on attractions, Cast Members were kind enough to hold on to her balloon for us. Think of it like stroller parking but for balloons. Most of the time we just dropped it around some of the metal fencing that makes up the queue at the entrance of the attraction. Cast Members are not liable if anything happens to your balloon as they aren't really supposed to keep an eye on them but we had no problems at all. In fact, we actually forgot our ballon at one attraction and went back a little bit later in the day when we remembered and it was still there. If your kids still want to get a Mickey balloon, I say go for it. It was much less of a hassle than I anticipated.

I hope you and your family have so much fun while at Walt Disney World, Nina! If you have any other questions before you go, please feel free to come back and ask me. I'm here to help.

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
