Hi Patti ~
I love the tours at Disney! I've done the
Backstage Magic Tour (BSM) & the
Keys to the Kingdom Tour (KTTK) a couple of times and love both of them. However, if time & cost aren't factors to you, I'd vote for BSM.
KTTK Tour takes place in the Magic Kingdom (MK) & focuses more on the birth of the theme parks & all of the details that goes into creating the "show" for guests. We went on a couple of attractions. A trip to the legendary utilidors is also included. We each received a super cool pin as a souvenEAR. You'll walk away with a greater appreciation for the MK & never look at it the same again.
The BSM Tour focuses more on how the Cast Members (CMs) work together to bring all the magic together. It lasts approximately 7-hours & covers a lot of ground. You get to go backstage at all 4 of the theme parks & see some super cool things including where they make costumes for the performers. I loved visiting areas like Central Shops where they make lots of things including parade floats. We got a close-up demonstration of the audio animatronics. You also get to visit the utilidors in the MK. For a Disney fanatic like me, just watching all the CMs getting ready to appear "on stage" is super exciting. Keep in mind that all the glitz is "on-stage", the backstage areas is where all the prep work happens.
You can't go wrong by taking either of these tours but BSM gets my vote. Please feel free to visit again with any questions. We're hEAR for you!
Wishing you many magical memories :-) Allison V.
