Welcome aboard planDisney! I’m sorry to hear you’ve been finding conflicting answers. Packing is much easier when you know the rules before you start playing luggage Tetris, so let’s get this cleared up for you and your crew!
The great news is that
Disney’s Booking Terms and Conditions do not restrict the weight of your luggage. Instead, the guideline is two items of luggage per Guest, giving you quite a bit of flexibility in what you bring onboard. Since you’re already so close to the port, you don't have to worry about an airline’s baggage-weight restrictions for the trip to the ship. Just keep your luggage to a reasonable amount and no more than two bags per Guest, and you should be well on your way to a smooth embarkation.
If you were flying to Southampton, that would be a different story. In that case, you’d want to check the baggage allowance for your specific airline, since its weight limits would apply before you ever reach the port.
I’m not sure how many Guests are in your party or what stateroom category you have, so I’ll add one other thing to
your packing plans: storage space is limited. There is a good amount of room underneath the bed for suitcases, but if you have four Guests and everyone brings two suitcases, that space can fill up faster than you can say “Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo!” I’d keep that in mind when deciding how much luggage you really want to bring onboard.
