How does bag transfer work st OKW if you sre not close to the hospitality house? Do they come to the room or do you need to find a way to get the bags to the lobby?

    Welcome back, Shannon!

Thank you for trusting our advice and for bringing another great question our way. Disney’s Old Key West Resort is the original Disney Vacation Club Resort and remains a great tropical hideaway for islanders like you and me! I enjoyed a stay here last year with some friends and am happy to help you understand what to expect. As you know, Disney will transfer your luggage to another Disney Resorts Collection Hotel if you are planning to enjoy a “split stay” at more than one resort. They make this change seamless and easy, so let’s talk about the process!

Disney’s Old Key West Resort is made up of many smaller buildings spread throughout the beautiful property rather than one tall structure. This makes it feel like you’re in a cozy community on the island of Key West itself! Hospitality House is the central location where you’ll find the resort’s lobby, Bell Services, transportation, and nearby Olivia’s Café and the resort gift shop. While this is the central location of Bell Services, you do not have to take your own luggage there for a Disney resort transfer. When ready, you may call Bell Services and they will come to your room and collect your luggage from there at your convenience. You may also speak to a Cast Member at the Bell Services Desk at any time during your stay to schedule the transfer in advance if you know the date and time when you’d like this luggage pick-up.

Your luggage will then magically be taken to the next Disney Resorts Collection Hotel and be waiting for you at the next Bell Services desk after your day full of adventures. You may pick it up at the desk or call Bell Services from your next resort room to have your bags brought to you. My family loves this benefit of staying at different resorts on our travels, and it’s so easy to explore two completely different locations and themes in one vacation.

You’re going to love staying at Old Key West, Shannon! It has all the familiar amenities of a Disney Vacation Club Resort plus many fun features and foods. Don’t miss the Turtle Krawl cocktail at the famous Gurgling Suitcase, or the daily brunch offerings at Olivia’s Café. I adore the laidback vibes and breezy atmosphere of this resort that boasts three refreshing swimming pools and a complimentary water taxi to Disney Springs.

Disney is always defining new ways to make our vacations convenient and more magical, and the luggage transfer service is just one of these examples you’ll encounter on your trip later this year.

Please let us know if you have other questions as you plan, or if you would like some ideas from our team to make the most of this special vacation.

Wishing you island vibes and cool breezes,
    Amy
