Hi there, Jennifer!
Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney. I can see you are putting the final touches on your trip planning in anticipation of your visit next week! You are going to love being in the parks, Celebrating Happy in honor of the 70th!
Let's set you up for a successful day in the parks. Happy to report that yes, you can bring sunscreen and your backpack! In fact, it's recommended as the sun does get hot! It's always a good idea to take a look at the property rules and
prohibited items to ensure you won't be turned away at the Main Entrance Gate and take away any of your time in the magic. Backpacks are permitted as long as they do not have wheels and are not larger than 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high. There are only a few guidelines around liquids, mainly that alcohol and glass containers (except for medicine and baby food in containers that are 4 oz or less) are not permitted. As long as your backpack and sunscreen fall within these parameters, it should be smooth sailing through the gates!
You are also free to bring in outside
food and drinks within these guidelines. In addition to sun protection, you're going to want to stay hydrated to keep your energy up! I like to bring a refillable water bottle that I refresh throughout the day. There are
bottle filling stations throughout both parks for easy access. Additionally, you can ask for a complimentary ice water at any quick-service location.
While you're in planning mode, I highly recommend checking out the
70th Anniversary Foodie Guide to earmark some must-try treats! There are loads of new offerings in honor of this festive celebration, and you'll want some time to take it all in before you hit the parks. If you're on-the-go and looking for something refreshing, I love the Sparkling Peach Punch from
Red Rose Taverne! If you're looking for a sugary pick-me-up, try the Celebration Matterhorn Macaroon from
Jolly Holiday!
Jennifer, I hope this was helpful in your planning! If you have any more questions, we are always here for you at
planDisney.
Wishing you magic,
Tara
