Hi there, Kari-Anne!
Thank you for stopping back by planDisney! With less than a month until your magical vacation begins, I'm sure you are excitedly counting down the days. I always love this period in my magical countdowns because dining reservations are locked in, and I can focus on my packing list and ensuring I have a Mary Poppins-worthy theme park bag ready to go!
According to the
Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules, bags that exceed the allotted dimensions (24" long x 15" wide x 18" high) are not permitted into theme parks or water parks. While this is the stated policy, I have never seen bags measured at a
security checkpoint, so as long as your bag falls within the specified guidelines at the time of entry, I would imagine it shouldn't be a problem. Please keep in mind that admittance will be up to individual Cast Member discretion, so if your bag technically is larger than the allotted dimensions provided, it could be denied entry.
Personally, I err on the of caution and prefer to just carry the bare necessities (a small wallet,
portable charger, disposable poncho, sunglasses, and medical necessities) in a small crossbody and opt to rent a
locker at the theme parks if I make any larger purchases I don't want to carry with me on attractions or need to store a sweatshirt for the evening. Maybe it's just me, but I love the convenience and ease of being relatively bag-free!
I hope this was helpful, Kari-Anne, and that a vacation filled with magical memories and tasty treats awaits you! If you have any additional questions before (or after) your arrival, don't hesitate to
stop back by. I'm always happy to help!
Hakuna Matata,
Lizzie
