Hiya Pal,
Welcome to planDisney! While I am a firm believer that everything is more magical at Walt Disney World Resort, the summer heat sometimes puts that belief to the test. One of my friends likes to refer to sweat as “glistening,” and honestly, you can only “glisten” so much before you begin to look like you have been riding
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure non-stop. Having a nice way to cool you down can definitely be an asset!
Now let’s chat about personal fans. I took a look at the
Walt Disney World Property guidelines, and while I did not see anything prohibiting handheld misting fans, I wanted to talk to a Cast Member about the battery-powered water mister you mentioned. When I spoke to a Cast Member, they pointed me to the guideline that prohibited “large misting fans.” Cast Members want to ensure that any misting devices used are not unintentionally misting Guests who do not want to be misted, so typically only handheld personal devices are permitted. That’s why we are unable to say for certain if your misting system would be permitted. Cast Members do have final discretion on items permitted at Walt Disney World Resort, so please keep that in mind. There is a chance that they will not allow you to bring your mister into the theme parks, so I highly recommend having a plan B. One of my favorite things to bring with me for keeping my toddlers cool is cooling towels. We can grab cups of water at quick service locations and re-wet them as needed, and they are very easy to carry with us all day.
I hope this was helpful! Before I let you go, don’t forget to check out the incredible offerings for
Cool KID’S SUMMER while you are visiting. Bluey and Bingo will be over at Animal Kingdom, Animation Courtyard is back at Hollywood Studios, and Toy Story toys will be hanging out at the Diamond Horseshoe for Jessie’s Roundup at Magic Kingdom. Oh, and don’t forget to head over to GoofyCore at EPCOT’s CommuniCore Hall! It is sure to be a perfect break from the sun and a fun time for the entire family. If you need anything else, please come back and see us.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
