Use my backpack like a purse when on vaca. Concerned about pickpockets in parks. What do u moms think about using a small combo lock on the zippers of the backpack? Had issue on other vaca. Thinking may keep wallet, ipod, ect. more secure in big crowds.

    Hi Stacy,

For the last 6 years that I have been going to Walt Disney World, I have used a backpack.  It is so much easier and convenient to carry all the things I need when traveling with a child. I have never had a problem with pickpockets in WDW and although I do keep a very close eye on it all the time, I really don't think this is the type of place where you need to worry about things like this (in my opinion).  This is not to say it hasn't happened to anyone, but I am not aware of it happening and I haven't had any problems personally with something like this happening at the Happiest Place on Earth!

If it makes you feel better to lock your zippers up with a combo lock, then I would do that to make you feel more at ease.  Just know that you will have to unlock your zippers each time you go through the security gates upon entering the Parks and this may become a bit bothersome for you.  I say do what makes you comfortable so you may enjoy your trip to the fullest!  Have a magical day!

    Best wishes,
    Brigitta
