Can I take a backpack into the parks?

    Hi, Jason!

Thank you for reaching out to planDisney. I bet you are getting excited about your upcoming visit to Disneyland Resort next month! You will arrive just in time to enjoy the end of the Holidays at Disneyland, which continues through January 6, 2025. I recommend riding the attractions with holiday overlays first, including Haunted Mansion Holiday, Mater's Jingle Jamboree, and "it's a small world" Holiday. Also, sample some of the delicious offerings at the Disney Festival of Holidays in Disney California Adventure Park. Order a few things to share with your family!

I bring a backpack every time I visit the theme parks! Now that my kids are getting older, they also wear their own backpacks (which has been a wonderful relief now that I don't have to carry three water bottles with me at all times!). My backpack is usually filled with a water bottle, snacks, a sweatshirt, hand sanitizer, sunscreen, cleaning wipes (to clean tables before eating), and a fan during warmer months. I also bring a poncho, which is helpful for rainy January days and when riding Tiana's Bayou Adventure (you will get wet!). I prefer ponchos over rain jackets because I can wear my backpack under it during rainy weather.

Guests need to pass through security stations before entering the theme parks, as well as the Downtown Disney District. Bags will be searched, and if there are too many things stuffed in there, you will need to remove them for the security check. Also, suitcases, bags, coolers, or backpacks, with or without wheels, larger than 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high are not allowed in the theme parks. You can review the Disneyland Resort Rules for a list of prohibited items.

Jason, have a wonderful trip to Disneyland Resort! Please contact planDisney again if you have additional questions!

    Happy holidays!
    Jen
