Can I take a backpack cooler that meets the required dimensions to the Oogie Boogie Bash event?

    Hi there, Dannie,

Ooh! What an exciting thing it is to get ready for Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party at Disney California Adventure Park. Are you dressing up? I’ve got my costume ready. This year, I’m going as Mr. Toad!

I’m glad you are thinking ahead for your provisions during the party. I usually take a large backpack with me. They are great for storing all of the Halloween candy we collect! The Disneyland Resort rules, which apply to both regular operating hours and after-hours events like Oogie Boogie Bash, require that backpacks be no larger than 24” long x 15” wide x 18” high. Additionally, the prohibited items list states that coolers larger than 6-pack size are not permitted inside the theme parks.

The combination of these items into a backpack cooler is likely to be subject to the most restrictive of the rules. For example, if your backpack cooler is within the size limits of a backpack but larger than a 6-pack cooler, security may restrict it from entering the parks. In such cases, Guests may be permitted to store a large cooler in one of the large or jumbo lockers available for rent at the picnic area near the main entrance to Disneyland Park. Ultimately, it is up to the security Cast Members to decide what can be safely allowed in the resort area and in the parks. If you think you may have something that may be scrutinized more by security, it is a good idea to have a backup plan, just in case. That may include allowing enough time to make a quick trip back to your parked car or nearby hotel.

Tony’s Tip: Besides all the Halloween candy, there are plenty of other delicious treats and menu items to explore at the Disneyland Resort during Halloween Time. Be sure the check out the Disney Eats: Foodie Guide to Halloween at Disneyland Resort for this year’s offerings!

    Happy Halloween!
