Just back from 1st trip to WDW. Had great time--thanks for the tips! Want to plan 2nd trip. Considering end Aug '13 or Oct 9-15 2013 for cooler weather. How are the crowds around Columbus Day? Smaller than August? Hoping for less people than July trip.

    Hi Lynn!

This is a great question. The first two weeks of August is generally still a busy time at Walt Disney World. However, the last two weeks is generally medium to low crowd-wise as older children and their parents are getting ready to return to school.

October is about the same as the last two weeks of August crowd-wise. Weather-wise, October can still be hot and humid but it is generally cooler than August.

We love visiting Walt Disney World in October. The Epcot International Food and Wine Festival is going on and Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is held on select nights in the Magic Kingdom. Both are fabulous events.

I hope this helps. Please write back with more questions.
