We just got back from staying at the lovely Bay Lake Tower I'm already planning for next year. We want a different experience so was thinking about the Poly or Wilderness. What's the difference between the Wilderness Lodge & Fort, is it all connected?

    Hi there Kim,

I am so happy to hear that you had such a magical experience that you are already planning your return to Walt Disney World! I think it's a great idea to start planning right away, so kudos to you for getting the ball rolling well in advance!

Wilderness Lodge and Fort WIlderness are located next door to one another but are two totally separate and totally unique resorts.  Wilderness Lodge is a Deluxe Resort featuring elegantly appointed guest rooms reminiscent of those found in the lodges of the Great Northwest.  Like all of the Deluxe Resorts, this property features upscale amenities, several delicious dining options, and top notch accommodations.

Just a boat ride up Bay Lake, you''ll find Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground where you'll find campsites and fully equipped wilderness cabins scattered about the scenic, country backdrop.  The mode of transportation here is golf cart and this fantastical resort is home to two trading posts and several great eateries including the popular Hoop De Doo Musical Revue dinner show.

I just returned from spending a week in one of the Fort Wilderness Cabins, and I had the best time!  The cabins feature a bedroom with Full Bed and bunks and a separate living area with Murphy Bed as well as a full sized kitchen!

Both Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness have Magic Kingdom access via water taxi across Bay Lake and the Seven Seas Lagoon which is a priceless bonus!

    Best Wishes,
