Hi Patricia! Welcome to planDisney!
I love seeing a fellow Tennessean here at planDisney! I bet you have been
counting down the days to your Walt Disney World Resort vacation and I don't blame you one bit. You have so much fun waiting for you!
I have good news for you! You are welcome to bring a backpack with you into the theme parks, just make sure that it is no larger than 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high. A backpack is a MUST when traveling with my family for carrying all the items we need like handheld fans, ponchos, sunscreen, snacks for our kiddos, hats or sunglasses, and water bottles. There are a few items that are prohibited including loose ice (ice packs or ice contained in a zipped bag is fine), glass containers (except for small ones like baby food jars), and alcoholic beverages. To view a full list of items to avoid, check out the
Park Rules.
When it comes to riding attractions, we simply take the backpack with us and place it at our feet. There are also
lockers available to rent if you don't want to keep it with you all day.
I hope this helps as you plan your visit, Patricia! Please let us know if you have any other questions.
Tabitha
