Hi! We are going back to Disney World in September. What is the best way to use the Dining Deluxe package? In the past it was 2 adults and 1 child. The child no longer can get off of the kids menu. Do we have to have 3 large meals or can we share?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Tammy! If you are using the Disney Deluxe Dining Plan on your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation, you are in for such a treat. My husband and I love to use the Dining Plan when we're on vacation because we love trying a little bit of everything, and with this plan we can both get an appetizer and an entrée as well as a dessert every time we have a Table-Service meal.

Guests aged three to nine are considered children on the Disney Dining Plan and must order off the children's menu when you redeem a meal credit. If your child has turned ten since the last time you visited and is now considered an adult using the Dining Plan, then yes, you can certainly order three appetizers, entrées, and desserts for your party. If you don't want to order all of this for every meal, that's perfectly fine, the Disney Dining Plan is pretty flexible. If you only want to redeem two credits and share the courses between you, you're welcome to do that! The only exception is that if you're at a dinner show, Character Dining experience, or a buffet, everyone on the reservation must redeem a Dining Plan credit, regardless of whether or not they order a meal.

Since we're talking about some of the different dining experiences available at Walt Disney World Resort, let's talk about some of the best ways you can use the Disney Deluxe Dining Plan. Because your meal credits can be redeemed for both Table-Service and Quick-Service meals, I recommend eating at as many Table-Service restaurants as you have time for! This really maximizes the value of your Dining Plan. You can also combine two meal credits and enjoy a meal at a signature restaurant, which is my personal favorite way to use Dining Plan credits.

    Have a magical day, Tammy!
