Welcome back to planDisney, Bethany!
I'm so glad to hear you had an incredible vacation! Here in
this magical corner of the internet, we know that the best remedy for those post-Disney blues is booking a return visit as soon as possible. Typically, I'm already planning our next Walt Disney World Resort vacation before the current one has drawn to a close...which is exactly how I wound up becoming a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder!
While I'm happy to share that I am very familiar with the process of
upgrading an existing Walt Disney World theme park ticket to an
Annual Pass, unfortunately, this is not currently an option for theme park tickets without any remaining validity or those that have passed their expiration date. This regretfully means that you will not be able to apply the price of your most recent theme park tickets towards the cost of an Annual Pass.
Now, if you decide you'd like to upgrade an existing ticket next time you are in the middle of the magic, you'll simply need to stop by a Guest Relations location at any of Walt Disney World's theme parks or the
Disney Ticket Center at Disney Springs while you still have at least one unused day remaining on your theme park ticket. There, you'll simply pay the difference between your original ticket price and the Annual Pass. It's just important to keep in mind that your year of magic will be backdated to the date of first use for your theme park ticket rather than beginning on the date you made the upgrade.
Personally, I loved this method of purchasing an Annual Pass because I was able to pay for my pass in two installments — the original ticket purchase and then the upgrade price — rather than as one lump sum. I also suggest making the upgrade early in your vacation so that you can take advantage of the
Passholder Perks as soon as possible!
Thinking Happy Thoughts,
Lizzie
