Hi Moms. I just came back from an awesome Mom/Daughter Disney vacation. We are thinking of having her sweet 16 with a few friends. Can you tell me what special things I should know . I heard about a free pass? do tell! what else? Thanks!

    Hi Christina!

I'm so happy to hear about your memorable mother-daughter vacation to Walt Disney World. There are many ways to celebrate a special occasion at WDW.

The free ticket on your birthday was a promotion that took place in 2009 and expired at the end of that year.

Consider a fireworks cruise for your daughter and her friends. My husband surprised me with one and we had a lovely time. It included birthday decorations and snacks on the boat!

You'll find all kinds of ideas such as horse back riding, carriage rides, and more under Recreation.

Take a look at the great birthday products that WDW offers, including custom cakes and free celebration pins. You'll want to note the birthday on all of your hotel and dining reservations. While not guaranteed, Cast Members sometimes will surprise guests with free desserts, birthday cards, etc.

Wishing your daughter a Sweet 16!
