Hi Karina,
My son is 2 1/2 years old and he has visited the Walt Disney World Resort 4 times (soon to be 5) in his short little life. His first trip was when he was 5 1/2 months old and it was probably my favourite visit of all time… so I think the “people” who are telling you it’s a waste of money are totally wrong! My son may not remember his first visit when he gets older, but I have memories I will treasure forever.
My first tip would be to check out
Planning for Preschool Kids & Little Ones page. There, you’ll find all kinds of tips and tricks for enjoying the Walt Disney World Resort with your little one! Make sure to visit the
Baby Care Centers if you need a bit of a break during the day. I love their extra-large changing tables and the rocking chairs (which will be especially useful if you’re still nursing).
There's a great post over at the
Disney Parks Blog gives you clear information about the height requirements for almost all of the attractions at the Walt Disney World Resort’s Theme Parks. If an attraction says that it can be experienced by Guests of “any height”, then you’ll be able to enjoy it with your little girl.
Finally, I would definitely recommend staying in a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel (if you didn’t already intend to do so) and heading back to your Resort for a nice long midday rest for you and for your little one. As for the number of days, it really depends on your family’s budget and how much vacation time you have. I would recommend at least 5 nights, but 7 nights (or more) would be ideal.
Have a Magical Day,
Lynne
