I have a baby on medical equipment.she isn't big enough for a wheelchair. will I have to remove her and her equipment from her stroller on the busses, or can her stroller be hooked in like a wheelchair ?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Marsha ~

I have a son with Cerebral Palsy who uses a special needs stroller as a wheelchair and I'm happy to assist you.

They will be able to hook your daughter's stroller in as a wheelchair on busses. Because the drivers may not recognize that she is using her stroller as a wheelchair, just have someone step on the bus and ask the driver for assistance. There are ramps they can lower so you do not have to lift your daughter's stroller along with all of her equipment onto the bus. Just be aware that depending on how many Guests in wheelchairs or ECVs are waiting for a bus or already on-board, you may have to wait on the next bus. Make sure you lock the wheels of her stroller and keep her strapped in while loading, riding, and unloading the buses.

You can also leave your daughter in her stroller on the monorails and some of the larger watercraft. However, the smaller boat launches will require all strollers (even those being used as wheelchairs) to be folded before boarding.

When you arrive at the first theme park during your visit, be sure to go to Guest Relations and request a band that will indicate to Cast Members that you will be using her stroller as a wheelchair so that you can take it in attraction queues and venues. Be sure to put it on a handle so that is clearly visible for Cast Members.

It may also help you to get a Disability Access Service Card (DAS) for your daughter. Here is some additional information regarding the details of how the DAS works.

Please feel free to visit us again with all of your planning questions. We are hEAR to help you!

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
