Mickey Celebrates D100

Hi! So my baby girl is already a huge Mickey/Minnie fan. My family of 4 plan to visit Disneyland for the first time in the summer & the babe will be 1 by then. Will she have fun?? I also have a 7 year old. What can they enjoy together?

    Oh boy, Julie!

I’m so glad you brought this question to planDisney! I feel thrilled to answer it, because talking about things to do with our littlest Mouseketeers at The Happiest Place On Earth is simply my favorite subject!

I see that you’re planning to visit this spring. My oh my, what a wonderful day to visit, Julie! Not only will plenty of Southern California sunshine be headed your way, but the Disney 100 Celebration will be in full swing! Next week, the year-long celebration begins. I can’t decide which part of it is more exciting: the culinary cabaret that will only be available this year, or the resort’s newest attraction: Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway!  I simply cannot wait to take my 1-year-old bouncing toddler Tigger on this ride. I’m feeling certain that your little Minnie Mouse will love this attraction. She and her big sister can ride it together and create a core memory for ever and ever!

As for the rest of your visit, I spend most of my time with my little man-cub in Fantasyland. My favorite ride is “it’s a small world”, and he  can ride the King Arthur Carrousel many times in a row! I find that the Storybook Land Canal Boats are a hidden treasure, and if you venture out to Critter Country, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh is a baby-pleasing ride that usually has very brief wait times. It exits into Pooh Corner (my personal favorite place to stock up on fresh treats because it’s usually less crowded than the other confection shops around the parks. But Shhhh! Don’t tell everyone else, ok?!)

Speaking of secrets, did you know that both the Disneyland Park and the Disney California Adventure Park have very comfy, air-conditioned Baby Centers? Each center has everything a baby or toddler needs, from bottle warmers to nursing chairs. Plus, my husband also likes to remind me to share that Dads love it here too! He always feels relieved that the changing stations here are the coziest places for freshening up our younglings’ diapers.

Julie, don’t forget to download the Disneyland Mobile App if you haven’t already. You'll need it to upload your theme park tickets, but also, familiarizing yourself with this app will save precious minutes navigating wait times. You'll also be able to place mobile orders for meals, snacks & beverages to pick up with minimal waiting. That'll help you Astro-blast those lines to infinity and beyond!

Keep those questions coming, Julie! I’m as committed as you are to making your vacation as magical as can be!  I can’t wait to hear about which adventures you and your princesses get into, so feel free to come on back and let me know if you have any other questions.
