Can babies go in pools with swim diapers on?

    Hi Lisa!

Welcome to planDisney!  As a mom of three, I've been traveling to Walt Disney World Resort with little ones for many years now and have enjoyed making wonderfully magical memories.  I'm so excited to hear that you're planning a visit with your young Mouseketeer, too!  I know it can sometimes feel overwhelming as you plan your vacation, but we're always happy to help here at planDisney!

Lisa, while my boys love visiting their favorite attractions in the theme parks, they are equally excited to lounge and play at the amazing pools they discover at our Disney Resort hotel.  Children who are not yet potty-trained are required to wear plastic pants or swim diapers when using the pool areas and splash pads throughout Walt Disney World Resort, including at the resort hotels and water parks.  Before entering the pool, I'd encourage you to check the posted pool rules (typically located near the pool entrance) for any additional requirements or important information.  I usually pack swim diapers from home, but you can typically find them for sale at most resort hotels and at the water parks, too.

planDisney Pro Tip - Make sure to check the activity schedule for your resort hotel either before you arrive or once you check in.  This will include a full list of fun happening during your stay and may include activities like Movies Under the Stars, campfires, arts and crafts, dance parties, and games!  This schedule can be found under the "Recreation" tab when you look up your resort hotel online and will also be posted in your hotel lobby.

You may also be interested to know that Disney offers complimentary life jackets at their resort pools and water parks for little swimmers.  These are available on a first-come, first-served basis and in a variety of sizes.

If you're planning to visit Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park and/or Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park during your stay, you'll find areas specifically designed for young ones to enjoy at Ketchakiddee Creek and the Frozen-themed Tike's Peak.  Don't forget that Guests staying at a hotel in the Disney Resorts Collection can enjoy complimentary water park admission on their check-in day now through September 8, 2026!

I hope this information has been helpful as you continue planning your upcoming visit, Lisa.  You may also want to visit our planDisney Video Library, where we have several videos dedicated to planning tips for traveling with little ones!  If you have any other questions, please stop by to see me or any of my panelist pals again - we're all ears!

    Cheers!
