Hi Lloyd! Welcome back to planDisney.
I am so excited to read, you are planning a return to
The World's Most Magical Place on Earth. A late January visit is a fantastic time of the year to visit. Historically, crowds are lower offering stress-free theme park experiences. I recommend you pack layers as temperatures can widely vary from the morning to the afternoon. And never forget your poncho for those pop-up Florida rain showers.
I chatted with a Cast Member who unfortunately could not verify if the hot tubs are indeed included in the refurbishment at
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter. The official recommendation is to use the pool
Ol' Man Island at Disney's Port Orleans - Riverside just down the road. If you choose to book on the French Quarter side, I would book with the expectation of having to use your sister resort's pool facilities. Upon your arrival, check with the front desk for clarification. Alternatively, consider booking directly on the Riverside portion of the resort.
Another
Disney Moderate Resort option is
Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. This
Dig Site pool area features the largest outdoor hot tub on Disney property. When you are done taking a dip in the pool, treat yourself to one of my favorite dining spots,
Toledo - Tapas, Steak & Seafood. I recommend the
Scallops and Charred Octopus. Even if you do not stay at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, this restaurant is worth taking a rideshare or
Minnie Van™ to enjoy the view and food.
Keeping it Magical,
Cindy
