Welcome to planDisney Audrey!
I am a big fan of connecting rooms. It is nice to be able to access your entire party, but with the benefit of being able to close the door when quiet is needed!
At Disney's All-Star Sports, I have had connecting rooms with 1 room having the king bed, the other with 2 beds. Since all the All-Star Resorts are similar, I am sure
Movies will have the same room options. What I do not know is how common this set-up is.
I suggest giving a
call to a friendly Cast Member at Walt Disney World. If you already have the rooms booked, a note can be made on your reservation with your request. If you have not reserved your rooms, this can be done by phone and a notation can be made for this particular room set-up. The Cast Member will have more detailed information of room options, so be specific with your request. Please note that every effort is made when it comes to requests, but they are not guaranteed.
Another option you may want to consider is
Disney's All-Star Music Resort. This resort has Family Suites that sleep 6. The suites have a separate bedroom with a queen bed, then additional sleeping in the main room for 4 additional guests. You will also find 2 full bathrooms and a kitchenette. It really is a great set-up for families!
I hope you find the perfect room (or rooms!) for your family! Wishing you a magical visit to Walt Disney World!
