Linda,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
You are smart to consider when to visit, as crowd levels can greatly impact your enjoyment of the parks. As you might imagine, if schools are in session, crowds are lower. Conversely, if they are out of session, the crowd levels rise quickly. Spring break schedules vary around the country, so it is impossible to pinpoint one good week versus another, but as a rule here is when you might enjoy smaller crowds in that February to April window.
February: The first two weeks are good, the second two weeks get busier, especially around the
Princess Half Marathon dates around the 23rd.
March: The first week is lighter than the rest of the month.
April: April starts out busy, largely because of Easter, and gets lighter in the last two weeks of the month.
BEST RECOMMENDATIONThe first week in February is likely the lightest of all the weeks in this three-month window. My preference would be that week, or the end of April, in the hopes of getting slightly warmer weather.
BONUS TIP #1Another good way to gauge crowd levels is to see the rates for tickets and
rooms at Walt Disney World. Higher rates typically equate to busier seasons and can give you a road map to how busy the parks are likely to be.
BONUS TIP #2If you have the flexibility to choose your week, great. But don't think that the busier times in this window are awful. I am coming down with my family the first week or April since that is when our Spring Break is scheduled. While we would like lighter crowds too, we don't find the slightly busier times to be off-putting.
