I want to avoid the crowds at the fireworks on main street and the hub, but I want to be able to see the projection on the castle. Suggestions ?

Thank you for dropping us a line at planDisney Leslie. I am happy you stopped by with this question about locations to watch the evening show.

Magic Kingdom Park is my favorite place on earth, and part of that reason is the nighttime spectaculars that end the night each night. Happily Ever After made its big return in early April 2023 and has been dazzling guests and claiming tears since then. The castle projections are some of the best of any of the shows from past years in my opinion. Scouting out a nice location to watch the show is one of the most important tasks of the night. Avoiding the crowds is something I try and do every time, for this nighttime spectacular there are ways to have an area where there are no crowds but those locations do not have a grand view of the projections. When we decided to watch and get a nice view of Cinderella Castle we usually stand near the Walt Disney World Railroad- Main Street U.S.A. While there is a perfect view the one thing it includes is crowds. Pretty much any area where you can see the projections you will be accompanied by other guests. If you are looking for an area where it isn’t crowded there are special viewing areas near the hub that are reserved. You can gain access to these by booking one of the Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Parties: Pre-Party and you will be dazzled by the sweets and treats available to enjoy. Adults ages 21 and over can enjoy select beverages. Shortly before the nighttime spectacular starts, you will be escorted to a prime standing area in the Plaza Gardens by a Cast Member. This Pre-Parth experience is $99 for adults and $59 for children ages 3-9 years of age. You will also need a theme park ticket to enjoy this experience.

If watching the projections doesn’t work out for you can try riding one of the open-air attractions to get a different perspective of these legendary shows. A couple of recommendations would be Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and The Magic Carpets of Aladdin. The view from the skies is pretty cool but if I were to pick one it would be Big Thunder Mountain.

I hope this information helps to make your fireworks experience a memorable one. Come back anytime to planDisney.com if you have any other planning needs.

    Have a magical day,
