To avoid any confusion on height requirements, is there any place at MK or EPCOT where a child can be officially measured so they don't have to wait in line only to be turned away for being maybe 1/2 an inch short?

Hi Gary!  Your child can be measured at the entrance to each of the attractions.  The Cast Members at rides with height restrictions all have measuring sticks at those entrances and will use them if there is any question about the child not meeting the height restriction.  You can also simply walk to the entrance and ask the Cast Member to measure if they don't offer to do so.  So no need to wait through a line-up only to be met with a disappointing moment.  Also, safety is of the utmost priority, so they will strictly enforce all height restrictions, even if your child is only off by a teensy-weensie amount!

I wish you and your family a very magical Walt Disney World vacation!
