What is the average wait time between value resorts versus contemporary resort in July. We are having trouble deciding if it is a huge time saver to upgrade. We will have a 4 and 7 year old and are concerned about them walking a lot.

    Hi Mark!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I think you are asking about the size of the resorts.  The Disney Moderate Resorts are some of the largest resorts around; I usually recommend only staying in Port Orleans Riverside or French Quarter if you are looking for a Disney Moderate Resort and don't have a car.

The Disney Value Resorts are also spread out, but not as much, in my opinion, as some of the Disney Moderate Resorts.  That is also true for Disney Deluxe Resorts.  If you are just worried about the time it takes to walk around a resort then I wouldn't necessarily upgrade.  However, I would upgrade if you plan on spending a lot of time at your resort relaxing.  The Disney Deluxe Resorts do offer a lot more service and amenities than a Disney Moderate Resort which in turn offers more than a Disney Value Resort.

With a 4 and 7 year old, I suggest considering a Magic Kingdom Monorail Resort, the Wilderness :Lodge, the Animal Kingdom Lodge, Port Orleans French Quarter, Pop Century, or the Art of Animation Resort.  Young children especially love the Animal Kingdom Lodge and the Art of Animation Resort.

I hope this helps!  Please write back with more questions!
