Hey, Jason!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. No way I'm letting a guy with such a cool name miss the inside scoop. Each Walt Disney World Resort theme park is different so the travel time from the parking lots to the entrances will vary. Here is my experience.
From the time you drive into:
Magic Kingdom Park: 30 minutes and will require using the
Walt Disney World Monorail or Ferryboat
Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park: 15 minutes
Generally, any theme park other than Magic Kingdom Park is a short 2-5-minute walk to the entrance after a 3-minute drive to a parking space. Later in the day or times with heavy crowds, you may choose to take a tram. Depending on where you park and how many stops are needed it could be a 5-8 minute tram trip. Tram wait times are 2-5 minutes. I'd budget 10-12 minutes if you unpack quickly. There is an area for security (bag checks) and time through this area at the entrance will depend on crowds. Estimate 1-5 minutes.
Disney Dad Tip: Get to the theme parks early to avoid major crowds and parking traffic. Use the
My Disney Experience Mobile App to help you "
Get Directions" from one location to the next.
Jason, enjoy making many Magical Memories at Walt Disney World Resort!
